The Pope

It seems like we should be able to exploit this in some way. Like maybe we could use it to get Patrick into heaven.

Baby Bulls

I think I have decided to watch as many Bulls games as possible this year. The main reason for this is that I have a friend who is a big Bulls fan, and he watch all of the Wolves games with me last year. I also like the Bulls, though. Hinrich is cool, in the farmhand sort of way, and Ben Gordon is a major stallion. I wish I could play (offense) like him.

I tend my thesis on Friday, but everything is basically done. I am very much in "Senior Slide" mode.

Grad school has never been so much fun. I defend in a week, and I am basically doing no work right now. Largely, I am hanging out with friends. You should look forward to this when you graduate, Stephen. Actually, you might be a little more responsible than me.

Have I told you about candiru before?

3:00 am

Hey all,

Thanks to Patrick for the 3:00 am phone call. I am not being sarcastic, either. Sorry I wasn't more coherent, but I haven't been getting much sleep lately. Consequently, waking me will often result in my mental processes not being to sharp (witness my inability to hear how "The Long Way Home" goes).

I think I am close to having the final draft of my dissertation done. The purchase and sale of my home is all set. Arrested Development is a fantastic TV show. Life is pretty good right now.

Here is the pig personality test.

If you are trying to make the NBA playoffs, you absolutely do NOT lose to the Atlanta Hawks. Seriously - I think the Evans intramural basketball team beat the Hawks at the Rec during our sophomore year. Wittig hit the game winner, I think.

Oh well - we can always hope the wolves end up with one of the top three picks in the draft.

The seller misrepresented the square footage of my new condo. It was listed as 811 square feet, but it is actually only 690 square feet. So I lose 121 square feet, but I gain $2000 for my trouble.

UNC

Yeah, a lot of things are wrong with the weblog. You might notice that I had three posts in a row before Stephen's that were very, very similar. That's because blogger told me that the first two posts didn't work. Apparently, they did. Also, you can't view the weblog when you check iheartharrison.blogspot.com, Stephen? That's weird.

And, yes, the weblog is named for Jeff.

So I think I won the office pool, although I haven't received the check yet. I think this makes me perfect in NCAA pools since '95 or so. I would have liked an all Big Ten final, except that:

1. My brother went to UNC, and so I wanted them to win for his sake.
2. I wanted to win the pool.

Otherwise, I would have liked to see Michigan State win. They are Big Ten, and they were an underdog. Good stuff.

The Timberwolves have about a 0% chance of making the playoffs. Even if they run the table for the rest of the season (8 more games), they need either Denver or Memphis to go 6 and 4 to finish the season. After that, they'd need to have the tie-breaker again whichever team collapsed. The chances of the Wolves going 8-0 are very, very, very slim.

So here is what I propose: The Timberwolves miss the playoffs, but their ping pong ball gets chosen for the lottery. Then they have the number one pick, and they can select Marvin Williams or Andriuskevicius. Of course, the chances of this happening are probably less than them going 8-0.

Oh, and all of the financing for my house seems to be working out okay.

Manchester

Patrick may want to stay away from Manchester.

I'm as busy as a moose. My advisor wants me to rearrage my dissertation, so that is what I am going to do tonight. It's fair enough - I've been having too much fun lately, so it is right that I should do some work.

Stephen - it was good talking to you the other night.

Another Chance for Glory

Hey all,

My intramural basketball team is in the Elite Eight for our 64+ team tournament. We are three wins away from being champions. We were down 21-10 at the half of our game on Thursday. This was largely due to a ton of stupid turnovers on our part. However, we came back in the second half, took the lead with 1:30 left, lost it with 1:00 left, and regained it (permanently) with 0:30 left. It was thrilling.

Stephen - it was good talking to you the other night.
