We do suck.

You are totally right about the NBA playoffs. I'm following the Dallas/San Antonio game online right now - it just went into overtime. Aside from the Cavaliers' second half collapse, this playoffs has been the best one that I can imagine. Wizards/Cavs, Cavs/Pistons, Lakers/Suns, Suns/Clippers, and Dallas/San Antonio has been been a treat to watch.

Not that I have been watching much. I don't have cable, so this is a problem. I've been reading about the games and checking the box scores, and they have been stellar.

What do you think about Nash winning the MVP? I'll open the floor up to everyone, but I would specifically like to hear from Bitty.

One-Eyed Cat

She's donating the one-eyed cat to a creationist. Doesn't this seem to be a pro-evolution cat? It mutated, and it was naturally selected. I don't understand the creationist stance here, do you?

Here is the picture of the cat, since you can't seem to see it enough:

Also, it was good talking to you last night, Stephen!

The Return of Dirk

I haven't been very good about updating, have I? Sorry. I am going to try to work on that from now on, although I sometimes have problems with this.

I have news for y'all, at least. I am dating a new woman. We have only been dating for three weeks, but we are really hitting it off. I'll try to call y'all at some point for a better update.

I need to figure out a good way to make triangles in Mathematica. I think I know how to do it, but I am looking for an easier way.

Bitty rules!

Wednesday, September 21, 2005

Hi all,

Update: I am really, really, really busy. I've been training people how to be a good teacher, organizing a tutoring center, helping to schedule the entire calculus program, and preparing for two classes. I haven't been sleeping much.

Romantic Update: So I haven't actually broken up with my girlfriend, but we have talked about it many times. We are going to wait until we see how school life is, and what it is like when we visit each other (I am visiting during the first full weekend of October).

The Vikings suck. I'm not too worried, though, because it means they are breaking out of their usual pattern: start the season red hot, and the collapse like a...cheap suit at the end of the season.

Also, I'm glad you finally felt like you were able to complete the table, Stephen. I've been telling you for years that Patrick is 100% straight, and I'm glad that you finally came around to seeing that.

This post is brought to you by whomever has the wireless network I am currently using.

Back Home

Hey everyone!

Bitty - thanks for caring about this weblog. I'm sorry I've been neglecting it.

Everyone else - thanks for nothin'!

So I just completed a cross country trip from Portland to Boston. I helped my girlfriend move from Portland to Columbus, and then she visited me in Boston for a week and a half. She left yesterday, and it looks like we broke up. I am not very happy about that, but I think it is probably for the best. We are still talking a lot, so we are going to be okay.

That's all for now.

People - they're the worst.

I really don't understand this world.

Girlfriend.

It's really nice to hear from everyone.

So I started dating this girl, we'll call her Samantha, about three months ago. We've been friends since we got to grad school (about 5 years now), but we just started dating in Aprilish. She is in a math program in Portland for six weeks right now, and then she is moving to Ohio. I didn't write much about her, because I wasn't on the internet much while I was dating her - I was trying to spend as much time with her as possible.

Basically, we haven't really broken up. This is good and bad. It is good, because I enjoy dating her. It is bad because we still have to try to figure out what is going to happen to us in the long term. I'm going to be in Boston for about 4 years, and she is going to be in Ohio for one year, and then in Oregon indefinitely. Does anybody have any advice?

Speaking of Boston, I don't have any news for you. My stuff in Madison is about half-way packed, so I am ready to go on a moment's notice. That moment hasn't quite arrived, yet. I'm really hoping it does soon, because I would like to:

1. Move my stuff to Boston.
2. Spend at least a week and a half in Minnesota.
3. Make the permanent move to Boston at the end of the month.

We'll see.
